Dr. Marissa Parks - Veterinarian

Marissa Parks

Dr. Parks grew up in Tomball, Texas, and is thrilled to be returning to the Houston area after pursuing her education and veterinary training in Tennessee and Florida.

From a very young age, Dr. Parks knew she wanted to work with animals. Whether she was bringing home stray cats to nurse back to health or fashioning LEGO wheels into a miniature wheelchair to help a tortoise learn to walk again, she was always happiest when surrounded by them.

She earned her Bachelor of Science in Agriculture with a concentration in Veterinary Science from the University of Tennessee at Martin, graduating magna cum laude and completing additional training in Veterinary Health Technology, before earning her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 2026.

Throughout her education, Dr. Parks sought opportunities beyond the classroom to broaden her experience and serve animals in need. She worked at an animal disease diagnostic laboratory, cared for her university's sheep and goat herd, partnered with shelters and rescue organizations, conducted and presented feline nutrition research, and continued her passion for community outreach through the University of Florida's Veterinary Community Outreach Program. She also gained extensive hands-on experience in both general and emergency practice while pursuing additional training in small animal dentistry and Fear Free handling.

Now living in Missouri City, Dr. Parks is excited to become part of the local community while serving families throughout the Houston area. Outside the clinic, she enjoys spending time with her Pomeranian/Husky mix, Bonbon, and her two cats, Tobias and Alien Boy, as well as PC gaming, reality TV, fantasy series, anime, paintball, disc golf, exploring local breweries and wineries, and cheering on the Houston Texans, Florida Gators, and her fantasy football teams.

Dr. Parks has a special interest in surgery and believes the bond between people and their pets is truly one of a kind. She is passionate about combining preventative medicine, client education, and compassionate care to help pets live healthier, happier lives while building lasting relationships with the families who love them.
